So I have been horrible keeping up with the blog lately. I told myself that I shouldn’t post until I sat down to properly to put one together. Well that took forever – so I am currently typing with one hand, and holding Zara with the other. She has been a little sick the past few days so I’ve been chasing her around with fluids trying to keep her hydrated. She is getting better day by day.
Can you believe its October?!?!? I sure can’t. October is a special month for me -because it is the month Zara was born! She will be one next week. I can’t believe how fast time flies and how much life can change in just one year! We’ve been planning her birthday bash – I will let you guys in on the the deets soon!
On the style – It’s not my most glamourous outfit but it is one of my favorite! I wore this when I made a quick run the Mariano’s and had the hubs take a quick few shots. I love layering clothes – as you can tell from my last three posts – i’ve been vesting it up lately! Its probably just another reason why I love fall. I found this military vest at the new Nordstrom Rack in Southloop and I fell in love with it. I paired it with a white tee, jeans and booties.

With the official start of fall – it is the perfect time to bring out my puffer vests! I currently have 3 in my closet – I’m likely to get more by the end of the season! I find it is the perfect piece for layering – especially on those colder fall days. For this look I paired my favorite pair of skinny jeans, with a pretty pink lace front sweater from the limited, my saddle colored puffer vest from Jcrew, and tan booties.

Happy Friday Everyone!
Another crazy week just flew by and I am super excited for the weekend! We will be heading to Michigan for Eid (The end of Ramadan) this weekend. I love going to Michigan, we get to spend time with family and friends and Zara gets spoiled by her grandparents! Its hard to balance work and a 9 month old, so it is really nice when we go to Michigan, because Suhail and I get some R&R (rest and relaxation). After we get back Suhail and I have made pact to go on a health food binge – I’ll let you know how that goes (or if it goes at all)! What do you guys have planned for the weekend?
So the past few days in Chicago the weather has been a little mild. I’m not complaining because I love spring and fall temperatures! I bought this sweater from Jcrew months ago thinking I would save it for later this year. But when the temp dropped I seized the opportunity and wore it last night for dinner! I love this classic look. I wore the sweater with a tank, and paired with blue jeans, wedges and gold accessories.
Have a great weekend!

Happy Wednesday ya’ll! (one day closer to the long weekend!)
There were so many great sales going on this past weekend that I couldn’t resist shopping a bit! I picked up these checkered cropped pants from Ann Taylor Loft. I really liked the pattern and they are a light and airy fabric, which makes it great for summer. For this particular look I paired it with light orange cardigan from Jcrew Factory and of course a pretty statement piece!
Also, did you guys get a chance to see that Donna Karen is debuting its new DKNY Ramadan capsule collection! It is a 12 piece collection which the clothing is a little longer, modern, and have a more modest silhouette. Check out the DKNY website for the collection lookbook.

After living in Chicago for 4 years- my lists of restaurants I want to try is getting longer and longer. This past weekend I finally visited Carnivale. I know, I’m late in trying it out, but its been on my list from the very beginning! The ambiance was so bright and colorful, the food was delicious, the company was awesome, not to mention the cotton candy for dessert. It was totally worth the wait! What are some of the restaurants you want to try?
On the style – If you can’t tell by now, I love blouses! This blouse is from a past season from Akira Chicago. I love the orange and blue stripes. I paired it with my favorite white Joes jeans, a tan belt, and wedges. I also wore a Laura Lombardi Necklace. I love her pieces – they are so trendy yet elegant.

Here are the details on one of my favorite looks that I had posted on my instragram last week – The easy clean casual look! I love a great fitting chambray shirt. It is a great addition to any wardrobe. A chambray shirt can be styled so many different ways and looks great! With this look I paired my top with my favorite white jeans from joes jeans. It’s after Memorial day so white jeans/pants are a GO!
