My Trench

Even though the official start date of Fall is still 4 days away – its pretty safe to say – Fall is here! I love fall fashion! One of my new additions to my closet is my sleeveless trench! I know what your thinking – sleeveless seems out of place in cold weather, but this trench can really be worn year around! I love it because it looks great layered on top of a short or long sleeve tee, or even a collard shirt! For this look I paired my favorite jeans with a checked top from Banana Republic, heels, and a few gold accessories.

Navy Classic Cool

Happy Friday Everyone!

Another crazy week just flew by and I am super excited for the weekend! We will be heading to Michigan for Eid (The end of Ramadan) this weekend. I love going to Michigan, we get to spend time with family and friends and Zara gets spoiled by her grandparents! Its hard to balance work and a 9 month old, so it is really nice when we go to Michigan, because Suhail and I get some R&R (rest and relaxation). After we get back Suhail and I have made pact to go on a health food binge – I’ll let you know how that goes (or if it goes at all)! What do you guys have planned for the weekend?

So the past few days in Chicago the weather has been a little mild. I’m not complaining because I love spring and fall temperatures! I bought this sweater from Jcrew months ago thinking I would save it for later this year. But when the temp dropped I seized the opportunity and wore it last night for dinner! I love this classic look. I wore the sweater with a tank, and paired with blue jeans, wedges and gold accessories.

Have a great weekend!

Love S.

Got the blues

It is July 1st! Can you believe half the year is already over – where has the time gone? I’m gearing up for the long weekend, as usual we will head to Michigan to spend sometime with family and friends, have BBQ and enjoy some fireworks. Can’t wait!

The pants to tops ratio in my closet is disproportional, I have way too many pants and not enough shirts to match them all. But that didn’t stop me from getting these pleated front jogger pants! I’m always a little weary of pleated front pants because I am only 5’2  and it sometimes just doesn’t look right. But when I tried these on I loved them!

For this look, I paired the jogger pants with a blue blouse, a blue floral blazer, pretty heels, and a few gold accessories, including a statement piece!
