Minty Fresh

This past weekend my family and I took a trip to New York City! We went to visit family and celebrate our 6 year wedding anniversary! We have been to NYC a bunch of times before, but let me just say NYC with a baby is a whole different experience –  but in a good way! We did some shopping, ate at many different places, but also did some kid friendly things like Central Park, and visited FAO Schwarz. We were moving at a much slower pace – but it was still nice.

Zara is almost 10 months now, crawling and discovering new things everyday (she is currently climbing on me trying to reach the computer keys!) So when we flew to NYC I was a little nervous on how she would react on the plane, thankfully she played and fell asleep. I’ll post pics later this week!

On the style – Its not a secret that I love business casual outfits, and the color green!  So when I found this blouse at The Limited  I was super excited. I matched it with green cropped pants from Jcrew, heels, and a few gold accessories.

Green Peplum + My Popinjay

For Mother’s Day this year I got a Popinjay Quilted Kufic fold-over bag. I love it so much that I planned an outfit to go with it! I’ve said it before- I love a fit and flare peplum top – I think its very flattering, and I love the color green. I feel green really compliments my skin tone. So a green peplum fit and flare top – is a win-win situation in my book! For this style I paired it with black faux leather pants and peep toe booties!

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a fabulous weekend! Today I thought I would post about a up and coming new company called Popinjay!

Specializing in socially conscious handbags, Popinjay is a new favorite brand of mine! Each bag is handmade, has unique old world flair, and made from high-quality raw materials .

What makes Popinjay stand out is how it incorporates great products and social justice. The women making these handbags are trained, paid well and featured on the Popinjay website.  It’s an amazing feeling to know your bag has had a positive impact on someone’s life.

The Fall 2013 line “La Mezquita” will be ending soon – so it will be your last chance to get your hands on one!
