Summer Nights

With the end of summer coming too fast – I am trying to squeeze every last drop in! I’m going to miss these amazing summer nights! I wore this casual outfit on an evening stroll with a few friends. Earlier this summer I found this lace top  at Forever 21 – I loved it instantly because it is very causal yet super chic. I paired it with olive green cargo pants from Zara and my favorite Converse sneakers!

Summer Blues

A few friends have asked me why I usually wear sunglass in all my pictures. One simple answer: it is because I feel like I always look tired! Juggling a 10 month old, work, and everything at home gets exhausting! I shouldn’t complain because thankfully, Zara is pretty great. But I now have a whole new appreciation for my own mom, I only hope to be as amazing to Zara!

I took a couple days off from blogging to catch up on a few things and reconnect with family and friends! My house is finally clean and organized (lets see how long this will last)! I also was super excited to catch up with a few friends last week, and my family on the weekend.

On the style: with summer soon coming to an end, I want to maximize wearing my colored pants! I paired blue pants from Zara, with a black and white blouse from Mango, I topped it off with some edgy heels.

Hope you guys are having a great week!

Easy Saturday Look

Whoa – its already Wednesday?!! The weekend went by way too fast! First off – Happy Eid to everyone who is celebrating! Suhail, Zara, and I had a fun Eid weekend with our family in Michigan! Normally, Suhail and I come back rested – but this time we came back exhausted. I think we can attribute that to having too much fun! It was great seeing all of our family and friends. We go back to Michigan so often that sometimes I feel like we live in two places. I am thankful that its within driving distance – otherwise it would be really difficult especially with a 9 month old.

While we were in Michigan – My family and I got to check out the farmers market in Ann Arbor! I always forget how fun Ann Arbor is especially in the summer – there is always something fun going on! On the style: I wanted an ultimate laid back Saturday look, but still chic!  I paired a pair of boyfriend jeans with a loose top and wedges and dressed it up with accessories!

Neutral Tones

I hope everyone had a great weekend! This was a fun one for my family and I! Ramadan is a time of year where you want to be close with family, friends and community! Growing up in Michigan during Ramadan we  spent every weekend going to Iftar parties. So when we moved to Chicago 4 years ago I wanted to make sure we kept up with the traditions.  On Friday we hosted our Iftar party. It was great to see most of our friends here in Chicago. We of course had Iftar, dinner and dessert, but I wanted to add a few personal touches! I found a great sign off of Etsy from Optical Designs- that said “Keep Calm its Ramadan” . I also made date pops! I found the recipe from this awesome blog based in Dallas, TX called “Honey and Dates”. FInally I added some Ramadan decor around the hall from Ranoon.com.

On the Style: The funny thing is, when you start style blogging, you want to go through your closet to see what you have and what you think will look great when you put it together with different outfits. I bought these yellow snake skin design shoes from BCBG generation so long ago. I forgot I had them, so when I found them again – I wanted to plan an outfit around them!  I love neutral tones. So for this outfit I paired these fabulous cargo pants from Zara with a loose fitting tank and a tweed jacket that I picked up at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! In some of the pictures, I’m carrying Baby Z’s Diaper bag (can’t leave home without it)!

Rain Rain Go Away

Hey Everyone!

I hope you had a fabulous weekend! We came back to Chicago from Hawaii and sadly we came back to rain. Although, we are happy to be back, we missed our baby, and after being on the beach for 7 days we started to get island fever. It was a great trip, we did some surfing (I was so sore afterwards), jet skiing, hiking, and of course some major relaxing!

On the outfit – this is more a business casual look. I paired high waisted straight leg trousers from Zara, with one of my favorite blouses from Forever 21, and a light jacket from Asos. I dressed it up with a necklace from Kenneth Cole, and basic black pumps.

Polka Dot Blues

May-12-2014

Hope everyone had a great weekend and a fabulous Mothers Day. Yesterday was my very first mothers day as a mom! I got a handbag and flowers from my husband, and daughter, and a necklace from my mom, and sister! It was an overall pretty relaxing day!

This weekend my husband and I had a lunch date with a few friends of ours. We went to Kingsbury Street Café in Lincoln Park. The food was delicious, and the chocolate muffins are to die for! To lunch I wore this look I call the “Polka Dot Blues”. If you can’t tell by now – I love jackets over everything. I think they give an overall polished look. I paired these blue pants from Akira, with a black polka dot blouse from Zara, and topped it off with a Jacket from H&M. The necklace I am wearing is from Lauren Lombardi.

Jacket: H&M, Pants: Akira (Last season, but something similar), Top: Zara (Last season, but something similar) .

Business Casual Cool

May-9-2014

Happy May everyone!

Yesterday my daughter turned 7 months! Where has the time gone? I feel like it was yesterday when I was rushing to the hospital with my husband because I was in labor.  These last 7 months have been the happiest and toughest in my entire life.  Happiest, because the joy a child brings to your life is amazing.  Coming home from a crazy day at work to see my daughters smiling face is wonderful! Toughest, because having a child turns you life upside down, and everything becomes a balancing act. I think the hardest thing is that your time to do things for yourself is so limited. Sometimes I wish I had the ability to be in two places at once – like at home with my husband and daughter – and out shopping at the same time! Oh well, I guess this is why they call motherhood the most challenging job in the world. If I figure out a way to be in two places at once I will let you know my secret!

I wore this outfit as a relaxed business casual look to work this week. I love cropped trousers pants, because you’re able to really show off your shoes! These pants are the Slone fit from Banana Republic. I paired it with a blouse from Zara, and my favorite jacket from Jcrew.
